350 miles of 2-lane highway from the east to the west of Nevada. Much more traffic than last time I did this ride. I think there might have been 3-4 cars going the other way every half hour or so. It must have been rush hour.
I left from Ely with my leathers on... 60 degrees...my kind of riding. I love the cooler temps, and I don't mind putting on the chaps and jacket. I started peeling off the cold weather gear around 10am, and by noon, I was back to the shirt and jeans...temps in the 80's. Not terribly hot, so it was a GREAT day of riding.
Bob's rear tire was getting dangerously bald, so he set up an appointment for new tire in Carson City. As we rode, it got even worse, so we slowed down quite a bit, but we got him to the dealership safely. Jim stayed with him there while the tire was changed, and Curt, Kevin, and I headed back to the hotel.
Carol, who lives in Reno, drove down to join us for dinner. It was a fun evening. Curt and Kevin headed out to do laundry after dinner, and I decided to wait until tomorrow night to do mine, when we get to Napa. We pick up their wives tomorrow in Sacto, so I figure I'll have time to get mine done, while they are "busy" with their wives. :)
Here are some of today's pics:

If you're ever in Eureka, NV, go HERE for breakfast or lunch. What a great find!! |

I have no clue what this is, but it was kind of cool... |

On one of the long stretches of "The Loneliest Highway in America," we stopped for a break |

Since no one else was around, we pulled out our handguns and did some target practice. I killed a sage bush on my first shot. |

Dinner in Carson City. Carol came down to join us from Reno. |
