We've been planning this ride for over a year. On July 27th, we'll depart for our 3 week ride across much of America. We'll stop west of St. Louis, Dodge City, Colorado Springs, Moab, Ely, Carson City, Napa, Reno, then head up to Yellowstone, and on to Sturgis for the last weekend of Bike Week up there.
July 27 through August 16. It should be one of those "life experiences". The five of us are pretty much ready. We're all doing a few last minute things to our bikes to make sure they're ready. For example, today I just put a new tire on my rear wheel. Kevin just had his bike dyno'd and adjusted with a Power Commander fuel management system.
We plan to post entries on this blog along the way, including pictures. If you'd like to follow our travels, feel free to add yourself as a "follower." I'm not really sure what that does, but I think you'll get an email when there's a new entry.
We started this blog in 2011 with our cross-country retirement ride on Rt. 50. Since then, we've been documenting our adventures on our bikes.

Will Curt EVER get his bike back?
About a year ago, when we first started planning this trip, my main concern was whether Kevin would be able to procure a Harley by our July 27, 2011 departure. But, he came through, and has a 2008 Street Glide ready to go.
Now, I'm more concerned about Curt. Even though he purchased a beautiful, brand new 2011 RoadGlide, it has been in the shop at Powder Keg Harley-Davidson for over a week! A simple dyno run to tweek in all the new toys he put on it, and they've had it for a week!! This is despite he made and had to wait for an "appointment" to bring it in! Sheese! I think they may have dropped it off the dyno, and have not told him. They're trying to put it back together. Make sure you confirm it's the same color, Curt, when you finally pick it up...if you ever do...

Maybe at our Wild Hogs movie night we'll have to do some group training. Or tonight at the bar for the Pub crawl group
